Dungarees - New Look

I've been um-ing and ah-ing over whether to get some full length dungarees for a while now, I've always admired how stylish girls I've seen whilst out shopping look in them and thought to myself 'I wonder if I could pull them off?'. What I've learnt when it comes to dungarees is that just because one doesn't suit you it doesn't mean they all won't. The vision I had was of a pair of baggy dungarees enabling me to pull off a laid-back I just threw these on kind of look but after trying on several pairs, all from different stores, I decided they weren't for me. They were all too pale and I am way to short to pull of the bagginess so was just left feeling a little frumpy. Having made the decision that dungarees just weren't for me I had stopped looking for the perfect pair when I happened to spot these ones in New Look. I was first drawn in by the colour as they were the first dark pair I had seen and was a little unsure at the thought of skinny dungarees but after a little persuasion from my mum I decided to give them a try. They fitted me like a glove, felt super comfortable and suited my shape a lot better than the baggier versions. It is safe to say I have pretty much been living in these dungarees ever since and I feel the skinny fit makes them a bit easier to dress up for smarter occasions too. This is one of my favourite ways to wear them though, with a shirt with a nice collar detail as I feel it just adds a bit more interest to the look. And, of course, now winter is here my fedora barely leaves my head.
Would you wear dungarees or do you think they're best left as a childhood memory?
