This weekend saw the 2010 Emmy Awards and the TV's hottest stars rolled out on the red carpet in some of the most extravagant of gowns. I envy the stars that get to go to these events and wear THE most stunning gowns, because let's admit it, it's every girl's dream to wear dresses like these and most of us in the real world don't get the chance to. Above are a few of my favourites, from the top they are: Lea Michele in Oscar De La Renta, Heidi Klum who dared to bare in a Marchesa mini, Claire Danes in Armani, Emanuelle Chriqui in David Meister and Rose Byrne in Gucci. But my favourite show-stopping dresses of the night were January Jones' gorgeous blue Versace gown and Emily Deschanel's purple ruffle Max Azria Atelier dress.
I have just heard the news that Grace Coddington is to pen her very own autobiography. I am so happy about this as I can't imagine it to be anything but fabulous. Now in her 60's she has plenty to write about from her successful modelling career that started at age 17, which was sadly ended at 26 by a tragic car accident that left her disfigured and needing surgery, to working behind the camera as a stylist, Fashion Editor at British Vogue and finally Creative Director at US Vogue. I'm sure she has some great stories to share with us about the world of fashion and nobody could do it quite like Grace Coddington.
Shearling is everywhere this winter from coats to boots, resulting in the emerging trend of aviator jackets. I am still unsure whether I am quite sold on this trend yet, but it is starting to grow on me with this grey Acne aviator jacket. But at a whopping £1,080 it is lucky that the trend is catching on on the high street. For those of us with a tighter budget this H&M black aviator jacket is a bargain at £24.99. Will you be swapping your aviator sunglasses for an aviator jacket this winter?

Next week LOVE magazine will publish its fourth issue with a choice of 8 different covers. Every single cover is just perfection, each depicting a different type of beauty. There is not much to say about these covers as I feel each one speaks for itself. I myself am blown away by the Sienna Miller cover, because if it wasn't for Sienna being scrolled across the front I never would have recognised her.
New to matchesfashion.com this week are these fabulous body contouring dresses by Emilio De La Moreno. The spanish designer has created the perfect body con dress that will give any woman a perfectly flattering hourglass figure. I especially love the leather appliqué on the black dress. Leather is looking to be a major trend for autumn/winter 2010, and quite frankly I feel the leather trousers and dresses are made for the most confident of fashionistas, so I feel this is the perfect way to work the leather trend into your wardrobe for the upcoming season.

God love Chuck Bass for bringing back the bow tie!! I am in love with his old school style. In every episode he's looking suave and gentlemanly, and I find this only adds to his bad boy charm. Chuck Bass is very rarely seen without a blazer; that he seems to own in an array of colours, but no matter what colour he rocks it every time. I find it's the small touches that draw me to his style the most and make him a true style icon, such as a scarf or coloured braces. In my eyes when it comes to style Chuck Bass can do no wrong.
There's something I love about playsuits, they're just comfy and easy to wear. This tribal playsuit from Love is great for your summer travels or just lazing in the garden dreaming of exotic getaways, and is bang on trend for this summer. I would team it with a great pair of gladiators and some wooden accessories for a truly ethnic tribal look. (Available now for £36 from inlovewithfashion.com)

I am loving this editorial from Harper's Bazaar US that turns Rachel Zoe's most common catchphrase into a reality. The shoot shows Rachel Zoe being killed in the most fashionable of ways by some of her designer friends; Francisco Costa, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Michael Kors and Brian Atwood. It's just genius! The winner for me has to be Brian Atwood "Death by Stiletto? I can't imagine a better way to go."

This weekend LA saw the 2010 Teen Choice Awards take place, and the stars all rolled out on the blue carpet in micro minis. With pins like that who can blame them? The colour of choice - white, which in LA looks great with their bronzed skin. My favourites of the night are Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester's long sleeved Emilio Pucci shift dress and The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev's Alex Perry sequinned mini.

My earlier post has very much left me anchoring after 1950's style pieces, and whilst browsing the internet I discovered Fables by Barrie. I am dying for his 1950's inspired swimsuits, they are so flattering and as stated on their website "Fables is a very unique look that brings inspiration from our favourite vintage styles to current times with a modern twist." They they are able to do this with details such as pattern, cut-out details and teaming a more modern style bikini top with vintage style briefs. Here are a few of my favourites from their collection...
