Of course as soon as the camera comes out so does Riley, so I couldn't resist including a few pictures of my adorable little fluffball.

 

I was recently sent this dress by DaisyStreet and I love everything about it.  The colour, the studs, the fit... it's just perfect.  Although the material is fairly thick, making it perfect for winter, it is getting a little too cold to wear alone, so I was thinking of getting a long sleeved shirt to wear underneath it.  I also thought this would dress it down a bit too making it a little more wearable in the day.  As much as I'd love to strut around dressed up to the nines every day it's just not practical and I would like to get as much wear out of this dress as I can.  Do you think a shirt underneath would work?

Firstly I would like to apologise for the extremely poor quality of this picture, it was a quick snap that my sister took on her phone as we were leaving to go to a party.  I wanted to post it though because I got this playsuit a while ago in the sale and it's the first time I've worn this playsuit.  I love it so much and even better it was an absolute bargain, reduced from £59 to £15!

 

On a brighter note though I have my new camera so this should hopefully be the last of the bad quality photographs on my blog.  After a bit of research I decided on a Nikon D3100 as I am no technical whiz kid and just wanted a starter DSLR that'd be easy to use.  I've had a little bit of a play around with it today and I can already tell I have lots to learn, so I'm hoping to have lots of fun taking pictures and learning about all the different settings.

 



Do any of you have this camera?  I'd be very grateful if any of you could let me know if you have any hints or tips or know of any helpful websites to help me get the most out of my lovely new camera.

Yesterday my lovely mother treated me to lunch at the Italian in town and this is what I wore.  Yes, a dress and bare legs in September, can you believe it?! I'm surprised how nice the weather has been over the past week.  I was digging out all my coats and jumpers to prepare myself for the snowstorms that'll probably be heading our way now the summer is over, but I've barely had to wear them.

 

I found this little bargain of a dress on the clearance rail in TK Maxx last summer and had to snap it up when I saw the £5 sticker on the label.  It's just so comfy and easy to wear.  I decided to wear it with my new Matalan boots and belt to dress it down a bit for the daytime.  I love these boots, they remind me of a pair I saw in Topshop last winter but are about a fifth of the price at £18.  Then after I picked up these boots and was browsing the accessories rails I spotted this belt.  I forgot to take a close up of it, but it is a thin tan belt with a lovely little tarnished gold horse buckle, and even better it was only £3.  So, minus my much loved Michael Kors watch, this whole outfit comes to a grand total of £26.  Bargain!



 

This is the final palette in the ELF 6 in 1 Beauty On The Go Kit and, although it's quite a neutrel palette and I do like some of the colours in it, it's not a palette I can see me using often or taking on the go with me.

 

 

The first row of eyeshadows are all shimmer shadows and, although there's nothing wrong with them, I'm not really wowed by the colours.  The pinky shade in the middle is probably the only reason I'd find myself digging this palette out for.  I just can't really se myself wearing the other colours with so many other lovely shadows in this kit.

 

 

The second row of shadows in this palette are more matte and again I'm not overly fussed by the colours.  For some reason these ones just don't seem to apply as nicely as the others.  It's a shame really as I love all of the other palettes so much, but I suppose it'll come in handy if I need a brown shadow and don't have time to search through my other eyeshadows.

 

 

Rather than a blusher this palette contains a bronzer, which I don't really have a problem with, but it is quite matte and I like my bronzer to have just a tiny bit more of a shimmer in them.  If you like a matte bronzer this would be perfect, it's quite pigmented and applies nicely.  Then I find the lip colours in this palette to be just a bit... blah.  There's just not very much colour in them at all and you have to apply quite a lot to get the hint of colour shown in the picture above.

 

As you can probably guess this is not my favourite palette in this kit, but I still love this kit and would definitely recommend it.  See my reviews on the other five palettes here, here, here, here and here.

First of all I'd like to apologise for the lack of outfit posts recently.  I have lots of shiny new things to share with you but no camera to take pictures of them with.  Hopefully that problem will be solved in the next couple of days with a super sexy DSLR.  I'm thinking of getting a Nikon D3100, so if you have this camera or have any other recommendations for a camera novice, please do let me know.

 

Anyway, getting back to the main point of this post, it has been so sunny and warm the last few days it's got me wishing I was on holiday next to a lovely cool pool in a beautiful bikini.  Can you tell that I haven't been on a holiday abroad this year, so I've had to imagine I am when the sun makes a rare appearance here in the UK?  This lead to me browsing swimwear, wishing I was off for some winter sun in a hot new bikini.  So I thought I'd do a swimwear post similar to my lingerie post, as I tend to have similar problems with bikinis and swimsuits not being available in bigger sizes on the high street or not being sold as seperates.  I also find that it's pretty hard to find bikinis or swimsuits on the high street with enough support for us ladies (un)blessed with bigger boobs.  So I thought I'd share what I came across when I was browsing online.

 

 

I've looked on ASOS before for bikinis but have never noticed their own "fuller bust" range and I have to say that I'm quite impressed with it.  They have some really pretty ones and are more affordable than the typical "fuller bust" brands such as Freya, Fantasie and Pour Moi.  I just wish that they'd have "fuller bust" models actually model it to see what they really look like, because I'm pretty sure that the models above are not a DD or bigger.

 

I am actually quite sad to say that these are the only larger sized bikinis that I could find within high street prices that I actually like.  It seems that it's like searching for a needle in a haystack to find a bikini above a D cup that doesn't cost a small fortune.  I also recently discovered that apparantly a size 16 is becoming the most common dress size here in the UK, so you'd think with the need for size 16 swimwear there'd be more availability in swimwear for the fuller figure, even if that only means for the top half.

 

Does anybody else have a problem finding nice affordable swimwear in their size?

This is not a usual post for me but I'd like to get into doing posts like this more often.  After all not all of us are the same shape and size, and as an aspiring stylist and personal shopper, I'd like to show you not only what I wear, but what you can wear for your own shape and size.  I know I'm way ahead of myself here, but after seeing all of the Christmas cards hit the shops this week, it's got me thinking about all the Christmas parties, meals and dresses.  Surely I'm not the only one excited for Christmas now summer has practically been and gone?  A big part of these celebrations are getting a new party dress and getting all glammed up, I love shopping for new dresses with all my friends and family.  With this comes the common phrases "I'm too big to wear a dress" or "I'll never look nice in any of these dresses".  Well this is a load of rubbish, plus size formal dresses don't have to be any different from the skinny minnie dresses.  All you have to do is find the right type of dress to suit your shape and style.

A-line dresses are the perfect party dress for pear shapes because the top will accentuate your slimmer top half whilst the flared skirt will skim your hips.  

 

If you have a rectangle body shape then, as you are all in proportion, you can pretty much wear any shape dress as long as it cinches you in at the waist to give you a shape, rather than looking straight up and down.  Belts and voluminous skirts are perfect for adding curves if you have this body shape.

 

The hourglass shape is considered to be the perfect shape for a woman and luckily this body shape can get away with more fitted dresses no matter what your size.  With your waist being the smallest part of your body anything that cinches you in at the waist or draws the eye to your waist will look great on you.  Pencil dresses look great on the killer curves of the hourglass shape.

 

As the apple has no defined waist you should avoid anything that cinches you in at the waist and draws attention to this area.  The perfect dress for the apple shape is an empire line dress which will cinch you in just above the waist and skim your stomach.  Embellishments on the neckline or hemline are also great for drawing attention away from your middle.

Today I am going to talk about my chest.  Yeah, you heard it right, this post is probably going to contain a fair bit of boob talk.  For a long time now my bust area has been a sore point, while many girls yearn for breast enlargements I spent my time yearning for a breast reduction.  I've always been uncomfortable with the size of my chest but after several years I've decided that it's time to embrace them, after all there are women out there who would pay thousands for what I got for free.  Now I'm not saying that this is going to happen overnight, as I have had many a tantrum in changing rooms and I'm sure there will be more.  As a size 8/10 with a 32E chest size, you can imagine that I don't fit into the generic sizing categories.  This has resulted in many tearful moments, with fashion being a huge part of me, I'd hate when I'd get in the changing room to try on a top or dress in a size 8 and there wouldn't be a chance of it stretching over my ample bosom, so I'd try a bigger size and then it'd fit across my chest but be huge everywhere else.  Of course this doesn't happen with everything and I'd been more accepting of it lately, that was until the bralet came along.  I have been admiring this trend all summer but with their underwired cups I knew I had no chance.  So this has taken me back to those younger years where I dreamt of smaller boobs.

 

Anyway, back to the main point of this post, one of the things I've always struggled with is underwear.  On the high street it is a lot harder than you'd think to find a nice bra in a 32E.  Most bras in a 32 only go up to a D cup and anything above a DD cup tend to start at a 34 or 36.  So I am stuck right between the two and there is nothing worse than an ill fitting bra.  Then a lot of the larger sized lingerie tends to be quite unattractive and, I hate to say it, can be a little granny-ish.  So I am really happy to discover this nice selection of Large Lingerie.

 

 

I actually already own this Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless Bra in Nude but I really want it in black and white now too.  I would highly recommend this bra no matter what your size.  I cannot praise it enough.  I've lost count of the amount of strapless bras I've bought on the hunt for the perfect one.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had to give their strapless bra a cheeky tug every 10 minutes to stop it slipping down.  I can wear this bra all day and not have to tug on it once.
