Ruby Crush - Precious Stones by Rimmel

 

It's been a while since I've done a nail post on here but as soon as I brushed this polish onto my nails I just knew I had to share it with you.  I got this nail polish at Christmas thinking it would be perfect for the festive season, all red and glittery.  If I'm being honest, I didn't exactly have high expectations of it and just expected it to be like any other glitter polish, thinking I would need several coats for any substantial amount of glitter coverage.

 

Well Rimmel, you have proved me wrong.  These pictures really do not show just how beautiful and sparkly this nail polish is but as you can see I managed to achieve full on glitter nails.  Even better, I managed to do this in just two coats.  Yes, you heard that right, just two coats as opposed to the usual 4 or 5 I have to ply onto my nails with other glitter polishes to get anywhere near this amount of coverage. 

 

You can see better in the second picture that this polish is made up of lots of tiny flecks of red glitter and larger flecks of silver glitter.  You can't really tell from this picture but it sparkles so prettily in the light.  Like every other glitter polish it can be a right pain to remove but when it looks this pretty who really wants to take it off?

 

At the moment Precious Stones is only available in two shades, this one and Diamond Dust, which is a grey and silver glitter.  I'm really hoping Rimmel decide to do this polish in more colours though as this polish has made it pretty fast to the top of my list of favourite glitter polishes.

If there's one trend that you cannot miss right now, it's Monochrome.  It's highly unlikely that you will be able to walk into any store right now without seeing a sea of black and white amongst the rails.  As a lover of black, this brings me nothing but delight.  Don't get me wrong I love a bit of colour in my wardrobe, but if there is one colour I find myself constantly going back to, it is black, and I don't think that will ever change.  And what colour goes better with black than any other colour? Moto Striped Shorts, Katz Cut Out Shoes and Quilted Box Chain Bag from Topshop - I love these shoes and think they would look perfect with some little frilly ankle socks.  If I had to give another reason why I love this trend so much it is because, for as long as I can remember, I have admired Chanel and a classic black and white look makes me think of them.  That is why I love this bag.  To me there is something very Chanel-esque about it with it's chain strap and quilted bottom.

It has barely stopped snowing today and it has got me feeling more Christmassy than I actual felt at Christmas.  I knew all it was missing was a bit of snow!  How nice would it have been if it had been snowing like this on Christmas Day?  I have to say I'm not enjoying the cold so much though, but luckily I have this cosy new knit to keep me warm...

How are you keeping warm in the snow?

Wow, it feels like forever since I last did a post.  I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.  I did plan to do this post just after the New Year but things have been a little hectic to say the least.  On New Year's Day I took a little three day break to Liverpool, a city I've never visited before, unfortunately I didn't get the chance to do much shopping but had a great time none the less.  We also went to Chester Zoo where I saw this adorable baby elephant and wanted to bring it home...

 



Since I got back from this little trip I have been trying to shake the dreaded winter flu, and the last week has consisted of trips backwards and forwards to the hospital to visit my dad who has also been quite ill.  He's doing a lot better now though and was released from hospital yesterday, so I am taking this opportunity to write this little update and catch up on all of your lovely blogs to see what you have been up to over Christmas.  Here are just a few pictures from the last few weeks that I haven't been able to post...

Dress - Vintage Vixen

I got this gorgeous cream vintage lace dress from the fashion show I featured in my last post and wore it on Christmas Day.



These last two pictures are from a house party I went to on New Year's Eve, where I wore a couple of the sale bargains I got after Christmas.  The dress was £7 from New Look and the belt is from Asos but is sold out now.

Hopefully now things are getting back to normal I'll be able to start posting more regularly again because I have lots of sale shopping to share with you all.
