I know I am a little behind with this one but I have been catching up on all the shows from New York and thought I'd do a little roundup of my favourites and some of the trends that are emerging for next winter.
I absolutely love Alice + Olivia's A/W15 collection, it has such an opulent feel with it's jewelled colours, floral brocade and full maxi skirts.
The thing that really caught my eye in Elie Tahari's A/W15 collection is this cobalt blue. I love this colour, it is so striking and I love the mixture of textures. My favourite is the suede skirt with the cropped woollen turtleneck.
I don't think you can go wrong with a bit of black and white so I am really loving these monochrome looks from J. Mendel's A/W15 collection. I'm not the biggest fur fan but there's something I really like about these monochrome patterned fur jackets and I really like the printed dress with slits in the sleeves.
For me Ralph Lauren's A/W15 collection is all about layers and the mixture of textures, with fur, suede, wool and feathers in shades of brown and cream all making up this collection. There's just a real cosy feel to this collection, which is something I always look for in winter, and I love all the elements that make up this collection: turtlenecks, fringing, ponchos. I have especially fallen in love with this cream lace maxi dress.
These embellished golden and ivory dresses from Naeem Khan's A/W15 collection are just simply beautiful.
There was a lot of navy and black on display in Marc Jacobs' A/W15 collection. I loved the dark vampy looks that had been given a feminine touch with full skirts, nipped in waists, beads, sequins and long leather gloves.
Then finally there is Marchesa. Marchesa is one of my favourite designers and one of the shows that I always look forward to the most. Their dresses are always so intricate and beautiful. I have to admit though that their A/W15 collection is not quite as awe-inspiring as previous collections, but I did love the Gatsby-esque feel to it with the twenties style waved bobs and fringed dresses.
Which was your favourite show from New York Fashion Week's A/W15 collections?
