Stripes And Pinafores

Pinafore - New Look

Top - Dorothy Perkins

Shoes - New Look

Bag - Michael Kors

Watch - Michael Kors

I'm sorry if you are blinded by the reflection off of my lily white legs but the sun has made a rare appearance recently and it's actually felt like spring, which meant I could finally wear a dress without tights!! Oh, the simple things! I got this pinafore for my birthday and had been looking for a nice striped top to wear under it and with the hope that the weather would be getting a bit warmer I didn't really want a long sleeved one. After hunting online but not finding one I liked, I happened to stumble upon this one in Dorothy Perkins in the sale. It is more of a jumper style and the sleeve length is perfect, making it ideal for the days when the sun is out but there's still a little chill in the air. For £8 you can't really go wrong.

Another recent purchase that was an absolute bargain were these little shoes. I've been wanting some new little black flats for a while, but as usual I was being my picky self wanting something quite plain but that had that little something extra that didn't make them your typical boring black flats. Cue these little beauties with their little cut out details and ties with gold tips. What makes them even better is that they are reduced from £19.99 to just £9! Who doesn't love a bargain?! Especially when it's exactly what you have been looking for.

Suede Skirt

Top - Dorothy Perkins

Skirt - Dorothy Perkins

Fur Gilet - Dorothy Perkins

Boots - Debenhams

I didn't realise that my outfit was a walking advertisement for Dorothy Perkins until I started writing this post and realised almost my entire outfit was from there. I feel like Dorothy Perkins is fairly underrated but I often see some nice pieces in there and I also find that they fit really well too. I had hunted high and low for a ribbed polo neck that fit me on my shoulders, returning a few, but eventually found this one in Dorothy Perkins along with this lovely suede skirt which had been on my wishlist for a while. I just love the look and feel of suede and am so happy it's stuck around for winter. I also love to mix textures so decided to add this fur gilet which I got from there a few years ago. Not only does it add some warmth to my outfit but I like how it also gives it a bit more of a boho feel.

I've been adding to my winter wardrobe little by little this winter and have a few other outfits I'm looking forward to sharing with you but I haven't really felt like I've had time to blog as much as I'd like. Don't get me wrong Christmas is hands down my favourite time of year but boy is it hectic! I've been getting really stressed out which never helps my anxiety, so I decided to take the day today to relax, watch Christmas movies and wrap presents and I feel so much better for it.

What do you do to wind down at Christmas?

Boho Vibes

Top - Zara

Shorts - Dorothy Perkins

Sandals - Topshop

Hat - New Look

As soon as I saw that the Zara sale had started I couldn't help but make a few cheeky purchases. After seeing the total of the amount in my basket though I had to be a bit more frugal and narrow it down to the most practical pieces. This top being one of my favourites. I love it's boho vibe with it's wide floaty sleeve, so of course I had to pair it with my suede shorts and a floppy hat for a slight 70's feel, a trend I'm loving this season. It's so light and floaty making it perfect for summer but I see this as a practical purchase as it will also be perfect for transitioning into winter by layering it with a suede or fur gilet.

What have you been treating yourself to in the summer sales? I can't resist a good bargain!

Monochrome And Braids

Every time I go shopping I go with the mission of adding a bit of colour to my wardrobe, but always seem to be drawn to the classic black and white. My last shopping trip was no different when I picked up this monochrome printed top from H&M. Sometimes I just don't think you can beat the classic black and white though.

Top - H&M

Jeans - Dorothy Perkins

Shoes - New Look

This is one of the most comfortable tops I now own! It's so lightweight and comfy. Perfect for this Spring weather where it's not quite warm enough for bare arms but too warm for a cardigan or jumper. The clashing patterns are great for adding interest to a simple outfit too.

I have been feeling quite bored with my hair recently, this is the longest I've gone without having it coloured or all cut off. I was contemplating going for the "lob" recently but was banned by my best friend who is getting married next week, as I am bridesmaid and she wants me to keep it long for the wedding. So I have been trying a lot more updos out on it recently and this side braid has become one of my favourites for keeping it out of my face. I have not quite perfected it yet but I hope with a bit more practice I'll get better and quicker at it.

Speaking of my friend getting married, I will be off to Santorini for her wedding on Saturday and I cannot wait!! I'm hoping to get lots of posts up when I get back with lots of lovely new outfits I've bought for it, including my bridesmaid dress! It's beautiful and I cannot wait to wear it.

Black And Grey

Jumper - H&M

Jeans - Dorothy Perkins

Boots - Primark

Hat - H&M

This is one of my go-to outfits at the moment, especially as the weather doesn't seem to be getting any warmer and it's just so easy and comfy to wear. I'd been looking for a nice cosy jumper for a while now and when I spotted this one in H&M I knew I had to have it, for some reason I'm really drawn to grey at the moment. It's a really nice soft chunky knit that keeps me super warm and was a bargain really at £19.99 for the great quality. I have also developed a slight obsession with this hat I also picked up and have been wearing it with most outfits, so I apologise in advance if it is featured in all of my future outfit posts. It's just so perfect for this crazy English weather where one minute it's raining and the next the sun is shining so brightly it's blinding you!

LRD (Little Red Dress)

Dress - Dorothy Perkins

Tights - UK Tights

Shoes - Peacocks

I got this dress just before Christmas, and being bright red all over it was a little out of my comfort zone but thought it was a little more festive. So I ordered it and surprisingly loved it. It is a really nice flattering fit and even though it is quite structured, the material is thick with a stretch to it making it super comfortable. It is still a little too cold to wear it with bare legs (I am only just getting rid of my umpteenth cold this winter) so to take the chill off I wore it with these Gipsy Seamed Tights. I like that they are quite sheer and the little detail that the seam at the back gives. The only problem with tights this sheer is that they ladder easily so you have to be very careful, especially around fluffy little dogs that like to jump up your legs (cough, cough Riley)!

Trending: Khaki Florals

1. Khaki Print Playsuit - Miss Selfridge
2. Khaki High Neck Shift Dress - Dorothy Perkins
3. Khaki Rose Print Drop Pocket Kimono - New Look
4. Khaki Crepe Floral Joggers - Dorothy Perkins
5. Khaki Floral Print Boxy Shirt - River Island
6. Oversize Floral Shirt Dress - Warehouse

As the new collections are starting to hit stores there is one trend I am starting to see emerge... Khaki! Now I don't dislike khaki but I've never overly loved it either. Whenever I hear the word khaki I automatically think of a dull green and military or camouflage, neither of which are really my style. This season though khaki seems to have been given a makeover with fresh florals and I'm kind of loving it, it makes khaki look a little less military and a little more feminine. I also think it is a great mix for in between seasons like now as florals are something that I tend to wear in the summer but the khaki colour makes these florals a little more winter appropriate.

What do you think of the khaki trend?

Faux Fur And Floppy Hats

Hat - New Look

Faux Fur Scarf - New Look

Jumper - George

Jeans - Dorothy Perkins

Boots - Topshop

I've been meaning to post this outfit for the last few days but have been busy working on another cake. I'm making a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake and I'm hoping it turns out as well as I envisage. It's so hard taking outfit photos in the winter but I managed to snap a few in the winter sun. It was a little bit chilly without a coat but I wanted to show the detail on the back of this jumper. I really like the sheer panel, I think it adds a little something. This is one of my favourite casual winter outfits, it is just so comfy. I love hats and really want to get some more but really struggle to find ones that fit my little head. So if anyone could recommend anywhere that sells hats that fit small heads please let me know.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

All Pink

As I sit here with a box of tissues and a glass of orange juice sniffling away, it is safe to say that summer is well and truly over. Those rays of warmth have been replaced with cold dreary rain but as I have been a little MIA for the last couple of weeks, which I will be explaining in another post soon, I decided to post the last of my summer outfits before my blog becomes a plethora of woolly jumpers and boots.

Dress - Dorothy Perkins

Shoes - River Island

Necklace - Rings & Tings

Watch - Michael Kors

I have to admit that I have never been a pink kind of girl and this is probably the first item of pink to ever hang on my rail. I can't say I've ever really been drawn to pink, even as a little girl, and I've never thought it'd be a colour that suited me, but when my sister bought me this dress for my birthday I thought I'd give it a go. I really liked the style of the dress and found myself looking in the mirror thinking maybe pink doesn't look quite as bad on me as I thought. Now don't get me wrong I won't be replacing my beloved little black dresses with pink ones any time soon but I'm not completely adverse to the colour anymore.

Are you a fan of pink?
