I have been planning on doing this post since Christmas Day but I have been super busy and after avoiding the dreaded cold all winter it looks like I will be ringing in the new year with a snotty nose and puffy eyes.  I woke up today feeling just awful, but will this stop me going sale shopping tomorrow for the second time this week? Erm... No!  I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and got some wonderful presents, and although I am ill I'm looking forward to spending some time in bed catching up on blogs to see what everyone has been getting up to over Christmas.  Here's a quick round up of what I've been up to...

Although I got this Christmas present super early, Riley was still the best present I got on Christmas Day.

Riley was exhausted after all the excitement and present opening.  I am not really one for dressing dogs but he got this jumper as a present from my Aunty and Uncle's dog so I had to at least get a picture of him in it.

Christmas Day at Home.  This is the first year I have spent the whole day at home on Christmas Day, so it was lovely to lounge around and not have to go anywhere.

Boxing Day Buffet at my Aunt's with all the family.  To me this is what Christmas is all about, spending quality time with family.

What's everybody got planned for New Year's Eve?  I think I'm just have a quiet one this year with friends, especially now I'm all bunged up!

Last week I won my very first blog giveaway from the lovely Danni at ellieand, I was probably a little overexcited, but if you all knew what bad luck I have it was like a Christmas miracle.  Then I opened my post to not only find this wonderful prize but also a lovely present from the taxman which is always good when you've just spent all your money on Christmas presents.  Never had such a run of good luck, so I'm massively looking forward to Christmas this year.

Anyway, back to my prize, I opened the parcel to find it all lovely wrapped in leopard print tissue paper with ribbon tied around it and a lovely little note...

Last weekend I went to Lincoln Christmas shopping, and I am ashamed to admit that I didn't buy a single Christmas present but went on a mini shopping spree in Primark instead.  I could have bought loads but I restricted myself to the 3 items above because I knew I would wear them the most.  I have been hunting for the leather pleated skirt for ages after seeing it almost everywhere online and I was so happy when I found one amongst a load of other skirts.  This excitement was soon shattered when I saw the size on the label... a size 6! I'm usually a size 8/10 so I thought I didn't have a chance in fitting in this, but my sister persuaded me to try because she thought I'd easily fit in it.  Well, hallelujah for elasticated waists because I am pretty sure this is the only reason it fits perfectly, but fitting into this skirt made my day!

We also finally got around to getting our Christmas tree this week, and decorating the house whilst dancing around to Christmas music really got me in the festive spirit.  I am a little sad that the tree is a lot smaller than what we usually have though but I still love it.

 It's tiring work trying to steal the Christmas decorations you know!

Today Lisa and I had a stall at the Christmas Tree Festival in the town's Parish Church.  This is where companies and schools all come and decorate a tree each and then there is an entry fee which all goes to the upkeep of the church.  Which I must say is one of the few nice buildings we have in town and that has been taken good care of.

I'm in a very reflective mood today, hence the song lyrics in the title of today's post.  They're from the song Black Eyed by Placebo.  I randomly heard this song on the tv today and it took me back to a few years ago when I went to see them with my ex-boyfriend for his birthday.  I do miss the good times.  Isn't it funny how a particular song can drag out a memory and affect you so much?  It has reminded me of the huge crush I had on lead singer Brian Molko though.

Also just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for all your lovely comments on my jewellery in my last post.  It shouldn't be long now until they're available online and I will let you all know as soon as they are.  Here is what I wore yesterday, as today I just threw a pair of jeans and jumper on to keep warm when taking Riley for walks and lay about the house working on my online shop.  I also took Riley to Pets At Home yesterday too, I usually leave him at home when I go, and he loved it.  He was like a little kid in a toy shop, so this obviously resulted in us leaving with lots of treats and some new toys, some of which have been put away for Christmas.

As you all know I have been slacking on the blogging front lately due to getting all my jewellery made for the Christmas Fairs, and me and the lovely Lisa did our first one on Friday.  It wasn't as great as I'd hoped but we still made a nice little profit, whilst tucking into mince pies and cupcakes.  To be honest I was kind of glad to get it out of the way because the Thursday turned out to be really stressful.  I had ordered gift bags for the jewellery and display stands, neither of which arrived by Thursday.  So I took a trip into town in a slight panic wondering what I was going to do.  I finally found some lovely red and gold organza which I decided to buy along with some ribbon to make my own gift bags.  By this point I knew it was going to be a long night with over 100 pieces of jewellery that needed gift bags.  Then searching for stands to display my jewellery on turned into a nightmare, which turned in quick trip to town into a 4 hour trek around every shop I could think of!  At the point of giving up I finally found the perfect thing in TK Maxx, but was a little put off by the price tag.  After a long time deliberating whether or not to buy it, I decided that it was too beautiful to leave behind.  Unfortunately I haven't got any proper pictures of it so I'll have to do another post on it when I can photograph it properly, because it is too beautiful to be taking pictures of it at night time in bad lighting.

Just a quick post after a night of jewellery making ready for the Christmas Fair on Friday.  Hopefully it'll be a huge success and there will be lots of pictures to share with you at the weekend, so you can finally get a peek of what I've been making.  I'm sure it's getting colder and colder by the day, which means it has been lovely shutting myself inside to make the jewellery and drinking copious amounts of hot chocolate.  I also felt it has been cold enough this week to get my fur coat out, although I hate the cold I have been secretly wishing for it since September so I could snuggle up in my fur.  I am also beginning to wonder if it's getting too cold for shorts, or whether I just need to invest in some thicker tights.  Here's what I wore...

I also got some new shoes the other day too.  Who knew it'd be so hard to find a pair of black shoes?  Ok, I may have been a little bit fussy, with every pair I found having a stiletto heel or patent (neither of which I wanted), I finally found the perfect pair.  Chunky heel? Check.  Platform? Check.  Nice Material? Suede. Check.  Comfortable (as can be for heels anyway)? Check.  Where did I find this perfect pair of black heels?  In one of the last places I probably would've thought of to look... Peacocks! I'm not usually a big fan of Peacocks shoes but I love these and the nice little price tag of £25!

First of all I'd like to apologise in advance for the mish-mash of a post that this is about to be.  I've been super busy making jewellery to sell at Christmas Fairs and will eventually be selling online.  I will give you a sneak peek in an upcoming post.  As you can imagine trying to make jewellery whilst having a puppy jumping all over you like he's had 20 cans of Red Bull is not the easiest, so it's taken me longer than normal which is why I've barely had time to post.  I have also been taking Riley puppy training, and he now seems to have fully got the hang of "sit"...

I also went to the opening of a new (and the only) vintage store in town called Vintage Vixen.  If you knew how small and non-individual the town I live in is you'd understand how exciting this is for me.  It's a lovely little shop with an array of vintage dresses, skirts, jumpers, fur coats and much more.  The opening party was a fairly intimate affair with mostly the owner's family and wine, nibbles and biscuits.  I'm sure the wine was just a ploy to get people to spend money ha ha.  It certainly worked on me.  I could've left with bags full but I was good and just settled on one dress.  The other good thing is that the clothes aren't overpriced at Vintage Vixen like some vintage stores can be.  The dress I got was only £28 and, surprisingly for vintage, fits perfectly.

I love the gold thread that runs through it and the cute little vintage square buttons.

My friend Lisa is also selling some lovely vintage jewellery in there, if it actually makes it into the shop without anyone calling dibs on it.  She has also set up a facebook page called Me Ol' China where she is also selling some gorgeous teacup candles which will make great Christmas Presents for your vintage loving friends.

Just thought I'd share a picture of one of the items of clothing I mentioned I bought during my retail therapy session when Riley was having his operation.  As you can see he's feeling better and getting back to his usual self...

Anyway, getting back to the real point of this post, I got this cape from Matalan and I can already tell it's going to be one of my go-to items this winter.  It's so lovely and warm that I haven't had to wear a coat all weekend and still feel nice and toasty.  What's even better is the price tag, a bargain at £10!!
