A few months ago I did a post on a lovely little envelope of treasures I received from Rings & Tings, which you can read here, and I got a nice little surprise when another one landed on my doorstep.

The first item I pulled out of my envelope of goodies was the bracelet.  It is very simple with a little blue charm and the initial 'm' imprinted on it in white, to which my boyfriend asked me why I was wearing a bracelet with an M&M hanging from it, I hadn't noticed the similarity until he mentioned it.  I quite like the simplicity of this bracelet though and am thinking about substituting the "blue M&M charm" for some little charms of my initials or just a really nice little charm that I can wear all the time.

Then I was also sent a lovely little vintage looking owl necklace and a simple gold ring.  Now I think I have quite small hands but this ring was still a bit too small for my ring finger, so I decided to see what it would look like on my middle finger as a midi ring and actually quite prefer it like that.  I really like midi rings and as this is not really meant to be a midi ring it's a bit chunkier and heavy looking compared to all the dainty midi rings, which is what I really like about it.

Even though summer is only just ending, after seeing some of the designs at New York Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2015 I can't wait for it to come back around again.  So I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you.

Erin Fetherston

As always Erin Fetherston's collection was really pretty and feminine with beautiful florals and lots of lace.  It was a made up of a lovely summery colour palette of crisp white and pale yellow in the form of little lace crops and maxi skirts.

Anna Sui

Anna Sui's collection for Spring/Summer 2015 had a real 70's hippy vibe to it with lots of wide sleeves and legs, embroidered denim and crochet.  My favourite outfit of the whole collection was the red floral jumpsuit pictured above, I love the style of it and the tie detail at the front.

Michael Kors

One of my favourite things about Michael Kors' collection was the bright yellow and navy.  The colours just look great together and I was happy to see that co-ords are here to stay with the navy and yellow floral crop top and midi skirt.  I also love how he teamed crisp tailored shirts with feminine floral skirts.

Badgley Mischka

I don't think much explanation is needed as to why Badgley Mischka was one of my favourite shows. It was just dress after beautiful dress adorned with pretty florals and made up of floaty fabrics.  And what girl doesn't love to dress up in a beautiful dress every now and then?

Oscar De La Renta

The best show of New York Fashion Week for me though had to be Oscar De La Renta.  I fell in love with nearly every single piece in the collection from the pale pink and baby blue gingham to the gorgeous broderie anglaise skirts and crop tops.  My absolute favourites of the entire collection though had the be the beautiful floral embroidered jackets.  They would make the perfect spring jacket for any outfit.

I'm so happy that the sun seems to be making a reappearance and giving me the opportunity to wear my summer dresses again before they are replaced with big thick knits and chunky boots.  Now, whilst I will admit that I am looking forward to being able to lounge around in big cosy jumpers and shop for boots and a new winter coat, I want to make the most of the sunshine and my summer wardrobe seeing as we get so little of it here in rainy England.

None of this outfit is particularly new, in fact I think I got the dress and shoes at the end of last summer and the hat about 3 summers ago.  This is why I love this outfit, as I can see it being an outfit I wear summer after summer until it has been worn to death.  In total this outfit cost me £21, so when you think of the cost per wear it is an absolute steal.  I love these little tea dresses from Primark, they are a bargain at £8, and are light and comfy making them perfect for hot summer days and I love how the print on this one gives it a vintage feel, and vintage is not something that is going out of fashion quick.  This winter I'm planning on having a huge wardrobe clearout and am going to try to make a conscious effort to fill it with timeless pieces that will last, and not make impulse buys that I will wear once or twice then leave hanging on the rail for the rest of the season.  To be honest I'm not sure how well I'll do with this, as when it comes to clothes I am a terrible hoarder, but this year I'm determined to be ruthless.  When your rail starts to collapse because it can't take the strain, it's time to get rid!

Southern Lights, £4.99 - Models Own

I am a huge fan of Models Own nail polishes, especially their Gel polish and Beetlejuice collections, so when they were on offer recently I decided to give one of their glitter polishes a try.  Now, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with glitter polishes, I love how pretty they look (who doesn't love a bit of sparkle?!) but they are an absolute pain in the backside to remove and it can be quite a chore having to layer on about 4 coats for an opaque finish.  When I saw the prettiness of this Southern Lights polish from their Wonderland collection I decided to look past all the things I hate about glitter polish and hope for the best. After all Models Own have never disappointed me yet.  As you can see the sparkliness of this nail polish speaks for itself and I was impressed that this opaque glitter was achieved in just 2 coats!  A first for me when it comes to glitter polishes!  This is such a pretty nail polish, which is slightly more lilac in colour in real life than it looks in these photos, and looks gorgeous when the little flecks of holographic glitter catch the light.  As expected though it is a devil to remove and I was slightly disappointed with the drying time.  I am so impatient when it comes to waiting for nail polish to dry, but when it still smudges 45 minutes after applying may be a little long for even the most patient of nail painters.

Even though it has it's downsides and still wouldn't declare myself a glitter polish lover, I am still in love with it's sparkle and is one of my favourite glitter polishes thus far.

I can't believe that it's September already!  I thought that after the miserable weather over the last week or so summer was officially over but the sun seems to have decided to make an appearance again.  So after spending the last week in jeans and cardigans, I thought I'd get out one of my favourite summer pieces, the midi skirt.  I got this one towards the beginning of summer from Asos and it is currently on sale for £21!  I love the shape of this skirt, with the pleats at the waistline and the hem which is slightly dipped at the back.  The length and thick material also make it a great transitional piece for autumn.  I have been styling it with crop tops and sandals for summer but I am looking forward to also wearing it in the colder months with a warm fluffy cropped jumper and chunky ankle boots.
