Friday Favourites: Advent Calendars
16:59
Now some people may think it's a little too early to be getting ready for Christmas (mainly my boyfriend) but if there's one thing I like to get in plenty of time it's an advent calendar. It's one of those things that if you leave too late all the good ones will be gone, and for me one of the most exciting things about Christmas is seeing what's behind each one of those little doors each day in the run up to Christmas Day.
There are a lot of different advent calendars on the market this year from beauty to candles and of course the traditional chocolate ones. Here are a few of my favourites...
Ciate Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar, £49
As with most beauty advent calendars this is slightly pricey compared to traditional chocolate advent calendars but I think it is so cute, with it's mini nail polishes. In total there are 23 mini nail polishes and one full sized polish, so your nails are pretty much sorted for the festive season with this advent calendar.
YOU Beauty Advent Calendar, £49.95
The YOU beauty box subscription service is offering both members and non-members this luxury beauty advent calendar at a similar price as the Ciate. Featuring some great brands such as Laura Mercier, Liz Earle and Caudalie I think this calendar is much better value for money containing over £240 worth of products for just £49.95.
Lindt Bear Adorable Advent House, £9.99
As much as I am lusting after all the wonderful beauty advent calendar sometimes you just can't beat a good old fashioned chocolate advent calendar. This Lindt one is one of my favourites, I love their Lindor truffles and little chocolate reindeers. Who wouldn't want a calendar full of little chocolate bears, reindeers and truffles?!! And even better, on Christmas Eve you get a full sized Lindt chocolate bear!
Yankee Candle Advent House, £24.99
A little more reasonably priced than the beauty calendars, and as a smelly candle lover, this is the advent calendar I am most tempted by. It is in the shape of a lovely snowy house decorated for Christmas and behind each window is a tea light in seasonal scents such as Candy Cane Lane, Christmas Garland, Snowflake Cookie, Sugared Apple, Christmas Cookie, Christmas Memories and Spiced Orange. This is the perfect selection for me as I love all the spiced winter scents the most. On Christmas Eve you get a Christmas Eve scented votive which provides up to 15 hours of fragrance. With this calendar I would have the nicest smelling house for the whole of December. This advent calendar is a prime example of why you have to get in there early as it is unfortunately already sold out on the Yankee Candle website, so I am now on a hunt for it elsewhere. Please let me know if any of you have seen these on sale anywhere.
Selfridges Advent Calendar, £85
Finally we have the holy grail of beauty advent calendars, the Selfridges Enchanted Spells Christmas Advent Calendar. This is way over my advent calendar budget but a girl can dream. With an Enchanted Christmas theme this luxurious spell book is full of minis from high end brands such as YSL, Lancome, Armani and Viktor & Rolf, it'd be like getting a small Christmas present each day. However, this is another example of how quickly these calendars sell out, just yesterday it was still available and today I have gone on the website to link to it and it is sold out online. So if you have the budget and live near a Selfridges I'd be quick if I was you.
Which advent calendar have you got your eye on this year?
