I am loving this shoot from Vogue Nippon, shoots like this are one of the reasons why I wish I could be a supermodel for the day. I love it when shoots look so outrageous yet fashionable and fabulous at the same time, because lets be realistic, unless your name is Lady Gaga when else are you going to be able to wear a bird, ship or teapot on your head?
I have just seen these pictures from River Island's Spring/Summer 2011 collection and the first thing that popped into my head was Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2011 show. It is clear they have taken inspiration from his collection with their shades of purple and red, this peasant blouse and diagonally striped maxi dress. I personally loved Marc Jacob's 70's inspired collection, so it is nice to see more affordable versions hitting the high street. I hope to see more hitting the high street soon.
If you're anything like me I'm sure that you too have been admiring the fabulous dresses that were worn to the Golden Globes this weekend. There were some gorgeous gowns but I have to say the one that really caught my eye was Amber Riley's. The Glee star really embraced her curves in this sequinned floor length figure hugging dress and absolutely killed it.
This got me to thinking about why we do not see more people in the spotlight embracing their size and proving that you don't have to be a stick insect to look good. When it comes to size I feel it is a major taboo in the fashion industry. We live in a society now where it is drummed into us that to look good we have to be a size 0, and I will admit I have admired many models and envied their long slender bodies. But the one thing that has really got me thinking about the pressure to be so tiny in this industry are new photoshoots and campaigns I have seen lately starring Crystal Renn. She was a plus sized model, and absolutely stunning I might add, and I really admired her confidence and success to fit into a size 0 industry.
But now she has slimmed right down, and I'm not going to lie she still looks good, but I can't help but wonder did she do this for herself or did she cave to the pressures of the industry?
I was then pleased to see that Look magazine had launched a campaign to find a "Curvy Supermodel". I would love to see curvy women embraced in the industry to prove that no matter what your shape or size we can ALL be beautiful.
Today ASOS has launched a new concept that they have aptly named 'The People's Runway'. It is essentially a Marketplace creating a platform for boutiques to sell their items and get their brands recognised, as well as allowing the general public to sell their own items here and recycle their wardrobe. The thing I love most about this concept though is that all the items for sale are showcased in a 'Street Style' type gallery, showing how well these items can be worn on the street. Here are a few of my faves...

Even though I sit writing this in my fur lined slipper boots and big woolly jumper, I am dying for the first flower of spring to bloom so I can pack away my winter wardrobe and put on something pretty. The reason for this is all the Spring campaigns popping up everywhere making me wish the sun would show itself and these dull days would disappear. Here are a few of my favourite campaigns so far...
Alexander McQueen's Spring 2011 campaign... my favourite ♥
Sisley's spring 2011 campaign... because we are all fashion victims.
The fabulous Freja in Valentino's Spring 2011 campaign.
I cannot take my eyes off of Givenchy's Spring 2011 ghostly campaign, even though it slightly freaks me out I am captivated by it.
The perfect spring day... pretty florals, picnics and sunshine in the Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2011 campaign.
Beautiful beading in the Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2011 campaign.
Agyness Deyn fooling around in the Culture Call Spring 2011 campaign. I am loving this printed dress.
A pop of colour in the Jil Sander Spring 2011 campaign.
One of my fave models Sasha Pivovarova looking gorgeous as ever in a tiered maxi in the Alberta Ferretti Spring 2011 campaign.
What is making you excited for Spring?

There's a huge craze of vampires sweeping the nation right now. You can't turn anywhere without seeing them in a book, in a film or on the tv. The stereotypical vampire has blood tipped fangs, skin as white as snow and a jet black cape, but this new breed of vampires are stealing the hearts of girls and women everywhere and they are doing it with style. Here are some of the most stylish vampires on our screens right now...
Kellan Lutz and Robert Pattinson aka Emmet and Edward Cullen
(Twilight)
Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder aka Stefan and Damon Salvatore
Alexander Skarsgard aka Eric Northman
(True Blood)
Stephen Moyer aka Bill Compton
(True Blood)
Which stylish vamp has stolen your heart?
As promised yesterday, here some pictures of my favourite gifts that Santa was kind enough to bring me this Christmas...
This is my beautiful custom made La Mer watch my parents bought me. I posted about these watches when I first started this blog and now I finally have one, YAY!! (FYI the pictures do not do these watches justice.)
This winter I gained a new found love for fur, (faux of course) so was pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped this fur and patent leather bag. I also got these tan suede shorts by Glamorous on my New Year sale shopping trip.
I'm not really big on bling but I have been lusting after these animal rings from Accessorize since well before Christmas (the cat one is in a previous post). My friend kindly bought me the owl one and I got the cat one out the sale for half price.
Then finally there's my River Island panda hat. I have been wanting one of these hats since last Christmas but never got round to getting one, so this year it was one of the things on the top of my wish list.
I know it's a little late (9 days to be exact), but I wanted to use this post to say I hope you all had an awesome Christmas and a fantabulous New Year. Mine was very hectic with lots of snow and last minute shopping, which is reflected in my lack of posts here over the Christmas period. I was running round like a headless chicken until Christmas Eve which was then spent watching Christmas movies, eating mince pies and wrapping my last minute presents. I got lots of gorgeous presents, which I will take some pictures of when I get chance and show you all my gifts that made me smile this Christmas. Some you may recognise from previous posts I have done on things that were on my wish list, and Santa was very kind to bring me them.
I then rang in the New Year at home with great friends, yummy food and champagne. Needless to say the bubbles went straight to my head and New Year's day was spent trying to pop those bubbles. Then I spent a couple of days indulging in some retail therapy sale shopping. The only issue I have with sale shopping though is I always go with the intent of picking up a bargain, then everything I fall in love with never seems to be in the sale... oops. Does anyone else have this problem?
2010 was not really my year, so here's to 2011 being kinder to me :)
