Just a quick post after a night of jewellery making ready for the Christmas Fair on Friday.  Hopefully it'll be a huge success and there will be lots of pictures to share with you at the weekend, so you can finally get a peek of what I've been making.  I'm sure it's getting colder and colder by the day, which means it has been lovely shutting myself inside to make the jewellery and drinking copious amounts of hot chocolate.  I also felt it has been cold enough this week to get my fur coat out, although I hate the cold I have been secretly wishing for it since September so I could snuggle up in my fur.  I am also beginning to wonder if it's getting too cold for shorts, or whether I just need to invest in some thicker tights.  Here's what I wore...

I also got some new shoes the other day too.  Who knew it'd be so hard to find a pair of black shoes?  Ok, I may have been a little bit fussy, with every pair I found having a stiletto heel or patent (neither of which I wanted), I finally found the perfect pair.  Chunky heel? Check.  Platform? Check.  Nice Material? Suede. Check.  Comfortable (as can be for heels anyway)? Check.  Where did I find this perfect pair of black heels?  In one of the last places I probably would've thought of to look... Peacocks! I'm not usually a big fan of Peacocks shoes but I love these and the nice little price tag of £25!

First of all I'd like to apologise in advance for the mish-mash of a post that this is about to be.  I've been super busy making jewellery to sell at Christmas Fairs and will eventually be selling online.  I will give you a sneak peek in an upcoming post.  As you can imagine trying to make jewellery whilst having a puppy jumping all over you like he's had 20 cans of Red Bull is not the easiest, so it's taken me longer than normal which is why I've barely had time to post.  I have also been taking Riley puppy training, and he now seems to have fully got the hang of "sit"...

I also went to the opening of a new (and the only) vintage store in town called Vintage Vixen.  If you knew how small and non-individual the town I live in is you'd understand how exciting this is for me.  It's a lovely little shop with an array of vintage dresses, skirts, jumpers, fur coats and much more.  The opening party was a fairly intimate affair with mostly the owner's family and wine, nibbles and biscuits.  I'm sure the wine was just a ploy to get people to spend money ha ha.  It certainly worked on me.  I could've left with bags full but I was good and just settled on one dress.  The other good thing is that the clothes aren't overpriced at Vintage Vixen like some vintage stores can be.  The dress I got was only £28 and, surprisingly for vintage, fits perfectly.

I love the gold thread that runs through it and the cute little vintage square buttons.

My friend Lisa is also selling some lovely vintage jewellery in there, if it actually makes it into the shop without anyone calling dibs on it.  She has also set up a facebook page called Me Ol' China where she is also selling some gorgeous teacup candles which will make great Christmas Presents for your vintage loving friends.

Just thought I'd share a picture of one of the items of clothing I mentioned I bought during my retail therapy session when Riley was having his operation.  As you can see he's feeling better and getting back to his usual self...

Anyway, getting back to the real point of this post, I got this cape from Matalan and I can already tell it's going to be one of my go-to items this winter.  It's so lovely and warm that I haven't had to wear a coat all weekend and still feel nice and toasty.  What's even better is the price tag, a bargain at £10!!

After my hair inspiration and lots of umming and ahhing I finally decided to take the plunge and dip dye my hair.  After checking out a few different colours I decided to go for pink.  I decided on pink for a couple of reasons: 1. After dying my hair brown over my previously bleached and red dyed hair, I didn't want to bleach my hair too much so knew I wouldn't be able to get it to a nice blonde.  2. I just don't feel right anymore without a bit of colour in my hair.  I never realised just how much my hair affected me until I had it brown for a whole day and I just felt so unhappy with it.

Firstly I dyed my hair brown to get rid of the red.  I know I shouldn't but I always leave hair dye on way longer than the instructions suggest, but as I didn't want my hair to go too dark I left it on for the suggested time this time.  Although I liked the Chestnut colour it gave me, like I said before I just didn't feel right, but I'd definitely recommend Live Salon Style hair dyes as they give great colour and have pretty good staying power compared to other dyes I have used.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've had a crazy couple of weeks.  I've been having lots of problems with my internet, and then my poor little Riley got bitten by a nasty dog whilst out on a walk.  I was so angry at the other dog owner for letting his dog near Riley and then not even being bothered when he bit him, all I got was "Oh, she can be a bit snappy".  Don't let her near my puppy then or at least warn me before she gets close enough to bite my puppy!!  So I've been backwards and forwards to the vets for painkillers for poor Riley, then one of his teeth fell out and he had to be put to sleep this morning to have another tooth removed.  He's now got to have painkillers and antibiotics for 2 weeks because the vet found a puncture wound inside his mouth when he was taking his tooth out.  I feel so sorry for my poor little pup, he has bruised and cut gums and a little bald patch on his leg where they gave him the anaesthetic that he keeps looking at like where's my hair gone.  Thankfully he's now home sleeping it off and having lots of cuddles.  Whilst he was at the vets and after all the upset I was in need of a little therapy and what better therapy is there than retail therapy?  So I'll hopefully be able to do a post soon to show you all the goodies I got.  Hope you're all having a better week than me and I can't wait to catch up on all your blogs.
