Last week I recieved this lovely bracelet from Prairie Charms, which is a new independent online store that sells some lovely limited edition handmade bracelets.  What sets Prairie Charms apart from other online jewellery stores is that 10% of every purchase goes to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Kiss it Better campaign.  So not only do you get a lovely little bracelet but you are also donating to a great cause which could ultimately save a child's life.

I'm a little mad that I was too excited when I recieved this package that I forgot to take a photo before ripping it open.  The bracelet came wrapped in some lovely paper with a dragonfly print and tied with a cute pink bow.  The bracelet itself is really good quality and I love how dainty the little crosses are.

As the bracelet is stretchy I've quite taken to wearing it as an anklet too.  I think it sits so nicely with the crosses dangling down.  What do you think?

Yesterday was one of my best friends birthday, she decided to have a barbecue and unfortunately the heavens opened.  Luckily I had just gone inside to get another drink and the gazebo was up to keep everyone outside dry.  It was a bit disappointing as it had been so nice and sunny the rest of the week, but despite the rain we had a great time and ate lots.

The third palette in the 6 in 1 Beauty On The Go kit is made up of some lovely shades of blue and green.  I haven't really used this palette much yet because when it comes to eyeshadow I am a little afraid of colour and looking like a clown.  I plan to change this though with this palette because the colours are too pretty to not use.

 

 

The first row is made up 5 different shades of green ranging from a very dark forest green to a pale shimmery green.  I'm hoping to experiment with these colours a bit more because they look so pretty and are very nicely pigmented.  My favourite has to be the fourth one.  It's a gorgeous green/gold shimmery colour and it looks so pretty.

 

 

Although I love the last two shades of blue on this row and think they would look very pretty, I still can't get my head around blue eyeshadow for two reasons. 1. It reminds me of middle aged women stuck in the 80's with a perm and heavy blue eye makeup. 2. I have blue eyes.  I'm not sure these are good enough reasons for me to write off blue eyeshadow though and never give it a chance.  What do you think?  Would you wear blue eyeshadow?  Even if you have blue eyes?

 

 

I know in my reviews of the first two palettes (which you can see here and here) I wasn't really sold by the lip colours, but the two in this palette have a little more colour pay off and I really like them.  They're both a lovely shade of pink, I especially like the darker one.  Then rather than a blush this palette has a bronzer in it.  As I am a typical lily white english rose I find most bronzers to be too dark for me, even some of the lighter ones, but this one seems to blend into my skin really nicely.  It also has a nice little shimmer to give you a lovely subtle sunkissed look.

 

Although this palette is probably not one of the ones I'd use the most in this kit, overall I am very impressed with the quality of the colours in this palette and am looking forward to experimenting with them a bit more.

I'm still loving the sunshine but was a little bit gutted to see that the rain is due to make a reappearance on Sunday.  I think I may have to start changing my outfit three times a day just to get the chance to wear all my summer clothes.  I plan on enjoying the sun as much as I can today sitting in the garden with my book and some ice cream.  I may even close my eyes for a little while so I can pretend that I am in a hot exotic country.

After moaning about the weather last week I can happily say that I am loving the weather this week.  It finally feels like summer and all the clothes I bought for the sunshine don't feel like such a waste of money any more.  It so nice to wake up to the sun peeping through the crack in my blind rather than to the sound of rain on the window.  It makes getting out of bed in the morning much less of a chore.

I've been a rubbish blogger for the last few days.  I had a pretty busy weekend shopping with my sister on Saturday and then going to a lovely family barbecue in the evening.  Then on Sunday, as my cousin is visiting from Ireland, we went to Stratford Upon Avon (where Shakespeare was born) and it was such a beautiful sunny day.  This is where I have been a rubbish blogger as I have realised I don't have a single photo from the whole weekend!  Instead I am going to share with you what a complete failure I am at spending bans.  Of course I've told myslef this is ok because the majority of items I got were in the sale.  I have 3 hauls to share with you from the last couple of weeks, so here is the first...

Today has been yet another day of crazy weather, as you can probably tell from the change in lighting in my pictures.  There has been sunshine, thunder, rain and then more sunshine.  I've been hot, cold and then hot again.  Let's hope the weather forecast is right and there will be a heatwave in the UK next week so I'm not taking jumpers and cardigans on and off all day.

The second palette in the 6 in 1 Beauty On The Go kit is another one of my favourites, with a mixture of browns of golds, the colours are all very wearable.  This palette is perfect to slip in your bag on a work day when you want a subtle or more natural look.

I love the first three colours in this palette, they have a lovely shimmer to them and blend together beautifully to create the perfect bronze smokey eye.  The fourth shade I'm not so keen on as it's not very pigmented but is a nice enough colour if you want something very very subtle.  Then the last colour in this row is the perfect highlighter for the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye.

The second row is what makes the eyeshadows in this palette perfect to me.  The middle three are such beautiful colours and are a bit lighter than the first row with a lovely tone of gold to them.  The the first and last eyeshadow are more matte than the others, so are perfect if you want to tone down the shimmer a little bit.

As I mentioned in my review of the 1st palette the lip colours don't have much colour to them, I'm not sure if you can tell, but the first lip colour has a slightly pinker sheen to it.  If you want more colour on your lips then these are probably not the best, but are perfect if you want a subtle sheen or to wear over pink lipsticks to add a little shine to them.  I absolutely love the colour of the blush in this palette but unfortunately is doesn't suit my pale skin at all but would look gorgeous on darker skin tones.

All in all I think that this palette is perfect for pretty much anyone and think it is one of the palettes in this kit that I will probably get the most use out of.  What do you think of this palette?

I had originally planned to review all of these palettes in one post, but after loading the pictures onto my computer I realised that it would be my longest post ever.  So I have decided to review each of the different palettes individually over the next week or two so I can spread them out a bit and hopefully not bore you.

I have had the 6 in 1 Beauty on the Go kit for a couple of months now and I love it.  There is a palette for every occasion in it.  Each palette contains 10 eyeshadows, 2 lip colours and a blusher or bronzer.  They are easily slotted into the compact but are also secure enough that the palette doesn't fall out when you open the compact.  I also love that the mirror is fairly long so it's very easy to see and use on the go.

The first palette is the one that I tried out first.  I got this kit just before I went on holiday at the beginning of June and thought this would be perfect to take away with me.  It is great if your like me and want to try and pack light, as it has a variety of eyeshadow colours.  The blusher looks a bit pink in these photos but in real life it is more of a peachy pink and is very wearable.  This palette can be used to create looks for both the day and night.

The first row is a lovely mix of bronze and gold colours which are perfect for the daytime or to create a lovely golden smokey eye for the night time.  Then the second row is great if you want to add a bit of colour.  The first colour is a shimmery charcoal colour which is great to create a dark eye for the night too.  It hasn't really shown up too well in this picture, but the last colour on the second row is such a pretty pink and is probably the one I have used the most out of this palette.

The first swatch is the colour of the blusher and is probably my favourite blusher of all the palettes in this kit.  It is a lovely peachy pink and I just feel like it really suits my skin tone.  As for the lip colours in this palette I'm not overly impressed, but to be honest I have never been a fan of lip colours in palettes like this.  I much prefer to use lipsticks or glosses.  As you can see in the palette the first lip colour is a plum colour and the second is a bright pink but when they are swatched they both look a very similar colour.  If you just want a light sheen on your lips then these are perfect but if you want more colour I would suggest using a lipstick first and then layering this over the top.

Now I'm not usually a huge fan of TK Maxx, with it's rows and rows of rails with very little organisation, so I very rarely go but I went along with my sister last week and was pleasantly surprised.  To be honest I usually walk around with blinkers on because I hate it so much but whilst my sister was looking at the sunglasses, I noticed the beauty section right next to them.  Thanks to this I have a new found love for TK Maxx.  It's not very organised so you have to have a bit of a root through the shelves but there are some right bargains to be found if you have the patience to do so.  I ended up getting the most gorgeous smelling candle for my room, which isn't really the treasure I found but I had to include it because I bought it at the same time and it really does smell incredible.  The real treasures that I did stumble upon though were the nail polishes.

 

Yes that's right, I finally got my hands on some Essie nail polishes.  I've been wanting to try an Essie polish for ages, and even more so since they started selling them at Superdrug, but was a little put off by the £7.99 price tag when Barry M was there to seduce me with it's £2.99 polishes.  All of the Essie polishes were in boxes of three and I just picked a box up to see how ridiculously expensive they were, so my eyes nearly popped out my head when I saw they were only £9.99 for the three!  They had lots of different colours but I picked this one for the mint green polish that I have seen on many other blogs.  When I got them out the box to take a look at them and try one out I noticed the name on the bottom of the polish.  I decided on the pink one and when I went to look at the colour I saw that it said Tangerine.  Now I would expect a polish named Tangerine to be orange so I searched for it online and sure enough it is a red/orange colour.  So then I looked at the mint one and saw that it was called Capri, so out of curiosity I looked this one up too and it appears to be a brighter version of Tangerine.  So I'm assuming that they have the wrong names on the bottles and that's why they are selling them at such a good price.  The last one is called Ballet Slippers but I can't tell online if this is wrong or not because it looks pretty much the same colour.

 

 

As you can see this nail polish definitely doesn't look "Tangerine", so the name is definitely the wrong name but that doesn't really bother me.  Although if somebody happens to know the actual name of this polish please do let me know.  I can see what all the fuss is about with Essie polishes now though, it applies so nicely and so far it seems to be pretty chip resistant.

 

If you have a TK Maxx near you I would say it's worth a trip just to check out their make up section.  Not only did they have these Essie polishes but they also had packs of four Nails Inc polishes for £12.99, which normally cost a little less than that for just one.  I'm definitely going back for more when I have a bit more spare cash.

I'm sure I'm not the only crazy one who was sat at their laptop last week waiting for the clock to strike midnight and the Zara sale begin.  Unfortunately there were a couple of items that I'd had my eye on before that were sold out, but I am still very happy with what I bought.  Zara may not always have the biggest discount on their sale items but I love that everything on the site goes into the sale.

I was so excited when I saw the size of the box the delivery man had for me.  Is it just me or does anyone else enjoy buying online more than in-store sometimes, because it feels like your getting a present?

I'm sorry I've been rubbish at blogging over the last few days, but after the rain bringing a nice little break from my hayfever I have managed to catch a cold.  So I have barely left my bed for the last few days and have pretty much just been sleeping and watching The Vampire Diaries box set.  Hopefully I'll be feeling better soon so I can get back to doing outfit posts and wear my lovely new clothes.
