I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with jumpsuits, I think they look great and can be super easy to wear but what a pain it is when you need the toilet, especially when you're out and about.  There's nothing worse than feeling like you have to get fully undressed in a public bathroom, which leads me to keeping my legs crossed as long as possible.  So my two main requirements when buying a jumpsuit are 1. Where and how it fastens, making sure it is easy enough to get on and off when nature calls and 2. Making sure I love it enough that it won't get overlooked in favour of more practical outfits.  For me this Asos jumpsuit meets both these requirements.  I love the style and print, I can sometimes get a little bit scared when it comes to all over prints but I think the colours and style of this jumpsuit stop it from being too in your face and I can break it up slightly with a waist belt like this one.  I love the fit of this jumpsuit and it super comfy to wear, and there's something about jumpsuits that makes me feel like I've put quite a bit of effort into my outfit when it's really taken no effort at all.

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Radiance Revealing Gentle Exfoliator, £4.49 - Boots

I'm ashamed to admit that when it comes to skincare I'm a little bit of a novice.  I wouldn't say I was blessed with amazing skin, it has always been fairly sensitive and a little on the dry side, but I was lucky enough when I was younger to never suffer from acne or bad breakouts so skincare has always took a back seat for me.  As I have gotten older though I feel as though my skin has gotten drier, flakier and dull looking.  I've tried several different exfoliators over the years but have always found them to be too harsh on my sensitive skin but after this winter I was in desperate need of something to rejuvenate my dull looking complexion and battle the dryness.  So I went on the hunt for something that would be gentle on my sensitive skin but that would also get the job done.  I've always liked L'Oreal products and this exfoliator sounded just like what I needed.

As you can see it is a gel like formula that contains tiny little micro-beads to remove dead skin cells and impurities.  I prefer this gel formula to cream formulas as I find them much more hydrating on my skin.  I've used a few cream exfoliators before and they have left my face feeling dry and tight.  Once you start to rub this exfoliator into the skin the gel gently starts to foam up but doesn't turn creamy and the micro-beads are really gentle on the skin.  Once rinsed off, my skin really does feel refreshed and super smooth and after using it for the last month my skin definitely seems a lot brighter and I have seen a huge improvement in my dry patches.  If you have sensitive and dry skin I would definitely recommend this to you as it is really gentle on the skin.  When I first started using it I did get the odd spot on my forehead and chin, but I feel like that is to be expected with any new product and they cleared up within a couple of days and have had no breakouts since.  As this is such a gentle exfoliator it can be used daily but I feel that it has done such a good job that I don't need it daily and have been using it every other day.  It does also state on the back of the bottle that it is proven to remove makeup but as I use it in the morning I'm not really sure how good of a job it does at that.

Lastly I would like to talk about the scent of this product.  Normally I'm not one for scents and try to find something that is fragrance free, but as soon as you pop the lid on this one you are instantly hit with the scent of fresh juicy peaches and I love it!  I don't know if it's the fact that it smells so fresh or the fact that it's such a natural scent compared to products that smell falsely floral or too perfumed, but this scent gives this exfoliator added bonus points for me.

As I mentioned in my last post I was feeling a little down about my Birthday and hadn't really made any plans due to my anxiety being quite bad.  Nevertheless, I was determined to have a nice day and to just relax and enjoy it.

If you follow my blog or my instagram you'll know that I'm an avid baker and I'm always busy baking everyone else's birthday cakes that I've never really had a fancy one of my own, so it was lovely to wake up to this surprise cake that my mum had had made for me.  Isn't it beautiful?!

I had a nice relaxing morning with my mum and boyfriend opening presents and then, seeing as the sun decided to make an appearance for my birthday, me and my boyfriend decided to take a nice little stroll around the village with Riley.  I love spring walks and all the pretty flowers blooming down the lanes.  Then we spent the afternoon eating yummy snacks and watching a movie.  In the evening we had a Greek takeaway and then a few friends came round for drinks.  All in all it was just the kind of birthday I needed this year.

Finally, as I got some lovely gifts from friends and family, and here goes the obligatory I'm not bragging statement but I love seeing the gifts other people get for their birthdays, so I thought maybe you'd like to see what I got too.  Or maybe I'm just nosey.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't post at all last month!  I feel like such a rubbish blogger, every week I drafted posts and the found myself deleting them all.  I have touched on my anxiety in posts before but I don't think I've really gone into too much detail on the impact it has had on me.  Over the past year, as it has worsened, it has picked away at my confidence and identity.  The two things that I believe are the key elements to my blog.  How can I do outfit posts and recommend things to others when I feel like I have no idea who I am anymore?  I feel like I've always been happy with my sense of style, dare I say proud of it, never being ashamed of how I look, who stares at what I'm wearing or dying my hair whatever colour I feel like.  I feel like my anxiety has taken this confidence away from me and with it I have lost my sense of self.  When my anxiety allows me to venture out of the house, I do so in outfits like this one so I don't stand out from the crowd and I can feel invisible.  Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a good jumper and jeans combo but this has gone from my comfy day outfit to my everyday outfit and it's just not who I am or was should I say.  I used to loving mixing and matching items to create the best outfit I could come up with and use them to create different looks and walking down the street with my head held high, confident in my style.

After taking a little time out and doing some soul searching I have decided to rediscover myself and find that confidence I so deeply miss.  Last weekend it was my Birthday and it really saddened me that I felt no excitement leading up to it.  The fact that I had blood tests booked for the day before didn't help (FYI I had a major panic attack and nearly fainted, me and needles do not mix well ha ha) but there was no Birthday wish list or anything.  After thinking it over I realised that it was this loss of identity that had left me feeling like this, normally I'd have a list longer than my arm of clothes or makeup that I want but I just wasn't bothered at all this year.  Me not wanting makeup or clothes or bags or shoes... absolute blasphemy!  Don't worry I still had a lovely day with my boyfriend and family (which I might share with you in my next post) but I am now even more determined to kick my anxiety in the butt and rediscover my identity.
