A while back I did a trend post on Palazzo Pants and have been dying for a pair.  Then a few weeks ago my Nan came to stay and we went on a little shopping trip where she treated me to a pair.  This week I finally got around to wearing them and I am just so in love with them!  Now I just want more!  I would wear a pair every day of the week if I could, they're so comfy and pretty, but I don't think my feet could take heels every day they need a little break once in a while.

I also had another attempt at perfecting applying my Barry M nail polish and I was much happier with the results this time around.  I really like the combination of black and white...

Seeing as this post is about my hair I couldn't help but title the post with a few lyrics from Lady Gaga's song Hair.  I must admit I was never a huge fan but with her new album Born This Way I have a new found love for her.  Anyway, getting back to the point of this post, after my hair inspiration post a couple of weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and go brighter.  After trotting off to the shops for a hair lightening kit and some more red hair dye, I came home feeling nervous and excited.  I'm happy to say there was no need for the nervousness, and I survived the bleaching with all my hair intact.  It actually worked a lot better than I expected and lightened my hair quite a bit.  Unfortunately I didn't get a picture but it went a mixture of a yellow (almost white) blonde, with very pale orange and pink tones.  Luckily I didn't have to go anywhere the next day, because I didn't want to put the red dye straight on top.  So I waited until the next night to apply the red, so as not to damage my hair more than necessary.  I am pleased to report that (even though I'm sure it is) my hair doesn't feel damaged at all.  Here is the end result...

It does actually look a fair bit brighter in real life, but what do you think?

I very rarely shop at Matalan purely because we don't have a store nearby, and I feel sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss.  I have to say though I'm quite liking their summer collection.  Walking around the store last weekend I had to be very disciplined not to pick up too much as I'm trying not to buy so much at the minute, but that's not really going to happen is it?  In the end I managed to narrow it down to a skirt, a hat and a pair of boots, coming to a total of £38 which I think is a bargain.  So here's a little peek at the skirt and boots which I wore the other day...

The thing I love most about these boots is the crochet panel on the sides, which I think makes them seem a little more summery.

I don't have a picture of the hat at the minute, but it's basically just a black 70's style floppy hat.  I have been after one for a while now so I was so happy when I saw them, and at only £6 I had to snap it up.

I have wanted a tattoo since I was about 14/15.  I love them and I think you can tell a lot about a person by the tattoos that they have, they a great form of self expression.  The thing is, anyone who knows me will know that I am the most indecisive person ever, which is a huge problem when trying to decide on a tattoo that will be a part of you for the rest of your life.  What should I have done? Where should I get it? Will I still love it when I'm 60?  I usually struggle trying to decide on an answer for one question let alone three!  I know one day I will be firm in my decision, but until then here is a little inspiration...

Wish I was brave enough to get a whole sleeve, but judging by how indecisive I am about my first tattoo, I'd be nearing my grave by the time it would be finished.

Just lately I can't open a single magazine without bright eyeshadows popping out at me.  I love bright colours, especially in summer, but when it comes to make up I'm ashamed to admit I can be quite boring.  My make up routine usually consists of cleansing, moisturising, foundation, concealer, eyeliner, mascara, a touch of blusher and then some lip balm, which results in this...

I mostly like to keep it simple when it comes to make up, the most daring my make up gets is a slick of bright red lipstick.  I would like to change that though because when it comes to hair and fashion I'll try pretty much anything so I have no idea how I became so frigid with make up, especially eyeshadow.  Here are a few looks that have been inspiring me to become braver with eyeshadow...

There was no doubt in my mind that in my list of favourite things H would be for hair.  For as long as I can remember I have loved doing hair... dying it different colours, trying out different styles and buying cute accessories.  I really regret not going to college when I finished school to learn hairdressing and opting for the more sensible option of Business, but oh well I guess there's time yet.  As much as I like to play around with hair and trim my own fringe, I would love to get some proper training, especially in hair colouring.  I love the way something so simple as dying your hair or changing your hairstyle can not only change the way you look but the way you feel too.

Here's a little of my hair inspiration at the minute...

I'm loving all the bright colours popping up everywhere at the minute, thanks to Bleach.  I would love to go there to get my hair dip dyed in their lovely pink and purple shades.  I can only imagine how hard it would be to get an appointment there with all the publicity they're getting at the minute and their celebrity clientele.  I definitely think it would be well worth the wait and money though.

As much as I'd love to brave some of these hairstyles, I don't think it's something I'd try out myself or in a local salon.  I'd only make such a drastic change if I really knew I was in good hands.  So for the moment I'm going to stick to red...

To be honest, I have been dying my hair so long that I can't really remember what my natural colour is but I think its a medium brown.  This is how red I can get it with Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL over brown hair.  I was satisfied with this colour for a while but now I want to go brighter, like this...

After talking to my hairdresser I have come to the realisation that the only way I am going to achieve this kind of brightness is by pre-lightening my hair.  Doing this at a salon will cost hundreds, and as much as I want it, I can't really justify spending that amount of money on my hair.  So now I am in a major toss up whether to try it out myself at home or not.  I am just a little nervous of it turning into a huge disaster or, god forbid, my hair falling out like some hair horror stories you hair.  What do you think, should I risk it or not?  If anybody has any tips or can recommend any products I would greatly appreciate it.
