Sorry I have been a little MIA from my blog over the past week, I just couldn't resist taking the time to enjoy the warmth and sunshine outside. With British weather being so unpredictable, I spent every moment I could out in the sunshine before it turns cold and wet, which it no doubt will soon seeing as we haven't had many April showers. I have fully loved this warm weather sitting in beer gardens, going for picnics and going for a 9 mile walk in the sunshine. I have also loved being able to dust off my summer dresses and walk around without a coat.

I have also been looking for a pleated midi skirt in a nice summer colour for a while now, so I was really happy when I found this vintage one on ebay. It not only makes me feel like I have a teeny tiny waist but is also a beautiful coral colour, my favourite colour for summer.

I love Batiste dry shampoo, it is my hair saviour. I was was cursed with fine super straight hair, which I'm sure some people would appreciate, but unless you want your hair poker straight all the time it is very hard to style. I was only able to do very little with my hair until I discovered dry shampoo. Not only does it smell gorgeous, it adds great texture and is very helpful for backcombing (which is the only way to add volume to my hair). I wouldn't say it's great for getting rid of grease, but it certainly helps in between washes and makes your hair feel lovely and soft. It just had to be in my A-Z of favourite things because now I have discovered it I don't know how I ever lived without it.

If any of you have any other tips for fine lacklustre hair please let me know :)

What is your favourite thing for the letter C?

For ages I have been wondering how to get leopard print nails without spending lots of money on salons and nail art. So I was completely overjoyed when I discovered Gem Fatale's Style Blog yesterday. She has a brilliant tutorial on how to do them yourself at a fraction of the price because you probably already have everything you need, which is just your two nail varnish colours of choice, black liquid eyeliner and a top coat. When I watched the video Gem made it look so simple, and I thought it's never going to be that easy. But it really is! I did it on my first attempt and didn't have to redo any of my nails. They're probably not as neat as they probably could be as I picked the wrong time to do them really and had to do them in a little bit of a rush.

The colours I used for my leopard print are Bolt From The Blue and Orange Soda, both by 17 at Boots. I look forward to experimenting with different colours and getting as good at them as Gem. If you are not already a follower of her awesome blog I suggest you start, not only does she have great style but her Tuesday Tips are full of great ideas. I shall definitely be trying out a few more.

This seems quite fitting as my favourite thing for the letter B, as it was my birthday this weekend. I have always loved birthdays whether it's mine or someone else's... cake, presents, friends, family, balloons... what's not to love. I was so happy that the sun decided to make an appearance for my birthday this year, rather than the usual April showers. So it was only natural to go shopping and for lunch in the lovely sunshine, then celebrate with good friends, cake and wine in the evening. Although I am getting old birthdays never do, I still get just as excited for them as I did when I was 5.

What is your favourite thing for B?

My last post title gave me the idea of doing an A-Z of my favourite things (the majority of which I'm sure will be fashion related). So, of course, A is for none other than the gorgeous Audrey Hepburn. I fell in love with her the first time I saw Breakfast at Tiffany's many years ago. I don't know a single girl who didn't watch that film and fall in love with Holly Golightly and her precious Cat. She is so beautiful and my No.1 classic style icon...

What is your favourite thing for A?

This weekend my sister went to an African themed fancy dress party and I ended up doing her hair and make up for her. It didn't end up being quite as perfect as I would've liked, but for my first time doing it and the short amount of time I had to do it (I literally had 10 minutes, if that, to do her hair!), all in all I was pleased with it. With a little more practice I think this is something I could really enjoy doing.
